      ชุดดังกล่าวตัดเย็บจากผ้าปิญาปักมือ ซึ่งเป็นผ้าที่ทอจากเส้นใยอันบอบบางของใบสับปะรด นับเป็นผลงานชิ้นเอกแห่งศิลปะฟิลิปปินส์ เส้นด้ายแต่ละเส้นสื่อถึงความอดทนและความภาคภูมิใจ สะท้อนถึงประเพณีที่สืบทอดกันมาหลายศตวรรษผ่านมือช่างฝีมือผู้ชำนาญ ประกายแวววาวตามธรรมชาติของผ้าปิญาสะท้อนถึงความเปล่งประกายของหญิงสาวชาวฟิลิปปินส์ ความยืดหยุ่น เปล่งประกาย และหยั่งรากลึกในมรดกของเธอ

       The ensemble begins with the timeless silhouette of the traje de mestiza: the camisa with its bell-shaped sleeves, the saya or skirt, and the modest pañuelo draped across the shoulders. These elements pay homage to the beloved heroine of Dr. José Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere, María Clara- the symbol of the ideal Filipina: virtuous, modest, and dignified. Her name and her grace would forever define this attire, which later evolved into the modern terno, the national dress of the Philippines.

     Crafted from hand-embroidered piña, a textile woven from the delicate fibers of pineapple leaves, the costume itself is a masterpiece of Filipino artistry. Each thread speaks of patience and pride, echoing centuries of tradition passed down through skilled hands. The natural sheen of piña reflects the luster of the Filipina- resilient, radiant, and rooted in her heritage.
